Retail | Closing Report

In this article we cover the Retail Closing Report located in the Manager tab of BLAZE iosApp and webPOS.

Prerequisites

  • App permission: View manager settings in app
  • BLAZE Retail > Global Settings > Company Settings > Roles & Permissions > App 
    • If enabled, no pin required to access 
    • If disabled, a pin with both the permissions to view manager settings AND override is required

How to Access

     Without Pin Override

  1. Login to POS > Manager > Closing report

     With Pin Override

  1. Login to POS > Manager > Closing report
  2. Enter pin of role that has both the permissions to view manager settings AND override enabled

How to Use 

  • Built to help you quickly view cash drawer levels of the whole shop and active terminals for the last 30 days
  • Easily email or print a PDF for your records 
  • NOTE: Report will be emailed to whoever’s email is logged in when viewing the report. If overriding with a pin to access, an email will be sent to the owner of the overriding pin
  • Switch between viewing sales with or without fees (both service and payment) included
  • Review refunds and voids to see how often product is being returned and cancellations in transactions occur
  • View if any cash drawers remain open

FAQs 

Q: I’m getting hit with an override pin popup but the pin I’m using is not able to access the page / I should have access to this page and not even be hit with a pin to override. How do I access this page?

A: If a report on all sales, refunds, voids, etc for both the shop as a whole and each active terminal is something you should NOT be accessing on a regular basis, you will need to use a pin of someone with this type of regular access (View manager settings in app) and the ability to override (Override manager in app) available. These permissions are managed within BLAZE Retail > Global Settings > Company Settings > Roles & Permissions > App. Roles with both permissions enabled will be able to use their pin to override any restriction to this page. 

Now if a report on all sales, refunds, voids, etc for both the shop as a whole and each active terminal is something you SHOULD be accessing on a regular basis, you will need to ensure your permissions are correct. This required permission (View manager settings in app) is managed within BLAZE Retail > Global Settings > Company Settings > Roles & Permissions > App. 

Q: The report is not emailing to me despite the success message that it has, how do I get the closing report to email to me?

A: The report will be emailed to whoever’s email is logged in when viewing the report. If overriding with a pin to access, an email will be sent to the owner of the overriding pin.

Q: Why are values in parentheses? 

A: In accounting, parenthesis denote a negative value, or a deduction. 

Q: I just opened / closed a cash drawer but it’s not reflecting in the closing report. How do I get my most accurate drawers to display in the closing report?

A: There’s a refresh icon at the top of the closing report. Tap or click that icon to refresh your closing report and get the latest cash drawer information
